Multi Channel software update, version 1.0.23
August 10, 2011
Version 1.0.23 of the Multi Channel software is now available for download.
A demo version is also available, which can be used without connecting measuring instruments.
This is a list of some of the changes:
- Added always on top action to the toolbar of the function generator control window.
- Improved the bit sampling method of the CAN analyzer I/O for when the sample frequency is not an integer multiple of the bit rate.
- Some bugs were fixed.
Multi Channel software update, version 1.0.22
May 26, 2011
Version 1.0.22 of the Multi Channel software is now available for download.
A demo version is also available, which can be used without connecting measuring instruments.
This is a list of some of the changes:
- Combined instrument channels now give their channel events in such a way that their data can be correctly processed by multi input receivers like a Multiply/Divide I/O.
- Dialogs that allow entering a user defined value in different units (like presamples) now convert the value when another unit is chosen.
- Trigger sources of Handyscope HS3, Handyscope HS4 and Handyscope HS4 DIFF are backupped and disabled when measure mode is set to stream and returned when measure mode is reset to block.
- Some bugs were fixed.
Multi Channel software update, version 1.0.21
April 29, 2011
Version 1.0.21 of the Multi Channel software is now available for download.
A demo version is also available, which can be used without connecting measuring instruments.
This is a list of some of the changes:
- TiePieSCOPE HS805 needs new driver version 6.0.7.
- Changes to the CAN analyzer I/O:
- Added mid level setting which defaults to 0.7.
- Better handling of unacknowledged CAN messages.
- BugFix: CAN packet size was not allowed to be equal to the minimum or maximum packet sizes, causing extended packets with 120 bits to fail.
- Scope data may now be exported with command line option SaveScp.
- Time stamp is added at the end of wave files created by exporting or with a disk writer sink
- Answers to Don't not show this again-questions can be viewed and deleted in Settings->General->Answers.
- DiskWriter sink:
- now supports frequency domain sources for file formats: MAT, CSV, BIN (not WAV).
- shows a message dialog when one or more sources are disconnected automatically due to incompatibility, disk full, etc.
- writes '000' instead of '1000' for 0 milliseconds in filenames.
- TiePieSCOPE HS805 generator:
- now supports burst mode for arbitrary signals in sample frequency mode.
- now uses another method for determining signal frequency. The new method always produces the same or better signal frequencies. Especially low frequencies are much more accurate.
- Fixed some problems when updating the sample frequency.
- DataGrid sink now supports multiple sources and has a column with row numbers.
- Timestamp of data is saved in setfiles.
- Added always on top to toolbar of I2C- and serial analyzer.
- Renamed I/O Sum to Add/Subtract.
- When an I/O that indirectly contains data from a DataCollector is dragged onto a graph containing DataCollectors, user is no longer asked whether to collect the data or not.
- Many other small changes.
Multi Channel software update, version 1.0.20
December 9, 2010
Version 1.0.20 of the Multi Channel software is now available for download.
A demo version is also available, which can be used without connecting measuring instruments.
Many changes have been made to the Multi Channel software.
For example, new analyzer capabilities have been added:
Single channel instruments as well as instruments with two or more channels can be used as
CAN analyzer.
To be able to analyze fast CAN buses and to analyze the CAN signal quality,
use of an instrument with a maximum sample rate of 50 MS/s or higher is recommended.
The following instruments are recommended for use as CAN analyzer:
A Data grid sink has been added for displaying different kinds of data
in a table.
It can for example be used to display the results of a CAN analyzer I/O or Pulse
decoder I/O.
The figure below shows a Data grid sink with decoded CAN data measured on the CAN bus of
a car.
Measurement on a CAN bus in a car, with decoded CAN data.
Instrument and channel toolbars can be
customized by dragging different items on or off an example toolbar in
Settings->Instruments->Toolbar.
Several default schemes may be chosen.
Scheme Classic for example contains V/div and time/div buttons and labels.
Changed schemes can be saved for later use.
Toolbar icons can be set to arbitrary sizes.
Customizing the instrument toolbar.
Sources can be added to graphs more easily:
-
When a time based source is added to a graph containing one or more data
collectors, the user is asked whether a data collector should be created for this source.
This means that channels can directly be added to a transient recorder graph.
-
A graph in frequency domain now accepts time domain sources.
An FFT I/O is inserted automatically.
This means that channels can directly be added to a spectrum analyzer graph.
-
When a source is dragged onto a spectrum analyzer graph and all lines in the graph are
logarithmic, the axis for the new line is set to logarithmic as well.
This is a list of some of the other changes:
-
User can limit number of channels that is used for the quick functions
in settings.
-
Added option to Disk writer sink to store one of every N records.
By default all are still stored.
-
Duty cycle and
Duty cycle inverted measurements added to
cursor window and Meter sink.
-
Default enabled measurements of Meter and cursor window can be changed in the
settings.
-
Timebase can now be changed with time/div buttons and time base resolution buttons.
See Settings->Instruments->Toolbar.
-
Instruments can be extracted from a combined instrument.
-
Files in the recently used file list are grayed when not accessible.
-
Instrument and channel toolbars can be
rearranged and layout can be saved.
-
Main toolbars (main menu, file, quick functions) can now be hidden
and rearranged.
-
Presamples, trigger level and trigger hysteresis can now be entered in different units
besides as a percentage.
