[s2;id=1;title=Signal shape (1)]
With the signal shape selector buttons the signal type can be set.
This includes the standard sine, triangle or square waves, a DC voltage,
white noise or a previously measured signal which can be loaded from a saved .dat file.
[s2;id=2;title=Frequency controls (2)]
The frequency box has all the controls for adjusting the signal frequency.
Seven decade buttons set a frequency range in which the frequency can be set using the slider.
[s2;id=3;title=Signal symmetry (3)]
This sets the length for the positive part of the period of the signal in relation
to the total length. A symmetry of 50% means that the positive part is exactly half
of the total period. Signal symmetry is also known as duty cycle.
[s2;id=4;title=Amplitude (4)]
The amplitude box features a slider for adjusting the amplitude, along with a few buttons
for easy amplitude attenuation.
[s2;id=5;title=DC offset (5)]
The slider in the DC offset controls the amount of DC offset that is added to the signal.
When the
signal shape is set to DC, the slider is used
to toggle the polarity of the DC signal.
[s2;id=6;title=External trigger (6)]
The Handyscope HS3 function generator can be started by an external trigger signal on
the extension connector. Check this box to use the external trigger.
[s2;id=7;title=Burst mode (7)]
When the burst mode is selected, the function generator generates a pre-defined number
of the selected signal.
[s2;id=8;title=Presets (8)]
The function generator has 8 preset positions to store signal settings.
The store button is enabled when a user-specified signal is not yet present in the preset
positions. When the store button is pressed, the new signal is added to the preset
list in the free preset position with the lowest number.
[s2;id=9;title=Numerical input (9)]
When the window is expanded, a small key pad is shown that allows numerical input for
the controls that are displayed in the green main window of the function generator.
The pad can be controlled by the PC's mouse or keyboard. In the latter case, the window
doesn't need to be expanded. Refer to the manual for a list of shortcuts that can be used.
[s2;id=10;title=Advanced settings (10)]
To open or close the Advanced measurements window pane, click this button or press the
< or > key on the keyboard.
[s2;id=11;title=Frequency sweep (11)]
The sweep function allows for a sweep through a fully adjustable frequency range,
in collaboration with the spectrum analyzer.
More detailed information about the sweep function can be found in the manual.
