The computer was probably not switched off, but put into stand-by or hibernation.
This causes the peripherals on the USB to be switched into stand-by or hibernation as well.
When the computer is switched on again, the operating will signal the peripherals with a special command to wake up.
This command is unfortunately not correctly handled,
causing the Handyscope HS3 / Handyscope HS4 / Handyscope HS4 DIFF not to wake up properly.
To avoid this problem:
- really switch off the computer and do not put it into stand-by or hibernation, or
- unplug the instrument before putting the computer into stand-by or hibernation and plug it back in after waking up the computer.
