It seems reasonable to assume that more bandwidth is better, but a wider bandwidth gives more noise. To reduce your noise you can switch a bandwidth limiter on. When a lot of noise appears on your signal and triggering becomes unstable, switching the bandwidth limit on will give a stable triggering. Enabling the bandwidth limiter also avoids under sampling.
The bandwidth limit can be enabled for each channel individually on the channel toolbar or in the channel settings window and has four settings. The frequencies of the bandwidth limiter depend on the MultiScope MS12 DIFF model:
| MS12 DIFF-1000 | MS12 DIFF-500 | MS12 DIFF-200 | MS12 DIFF-100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Off (250 MHz) | Off (250 MHz) | Off (250 MHz) | Off (100 MHz) |
| 150 MHz | 150 MHz | 150 MHz | 75 MHz |
| 100 MHz | 100 MHz | 100 MHz | 50 MHz |
| 50 MHz | 50 MHz | 50 MHz | 25 MHz |
