The new standalone logging option L for the WiFiScope WS6 - 1000XM makes it possible to use the WiFiScope WS6 fully autonomously, performing standalone measurements. Setup the instrument, start measuring and then disconnect the computer, leaving the instrument to continue measuring completely by itself. Measured data is stored on a solid state disk in the instrument.
The WiFiScope WS6 will now perform triggered high resolution measurements up to 1 GSa/s on up to 4 channels simultaneously, with record lengths up to 256 Mpoints. The WiFiScope WS6 can also be used as continuously streaming data logger, with sampling rates up to 200 MSa/s up to 4 channels. Up to 10000 measurements or a maximum of 30 GByte can be stored on the internal storage of the instrument. Possible applications are e.g. monitoring circuit breakers in transformer stations, to find out exactly when they trip and why, performing long logging measurements on e.g. mains power, without occupying your computer, etc.
Monitoring the standalone instrument

When the network connection is interrupted, the instrument remains measuring and storing the measurements internally. The software will send a notification to the user of the network loss.
When the network connection is restored, the WiFiScope WS6 will automatically connect to the network again and the connection to Multi Channel oscilloscope software will be restored. Monitoring will take place again and notifications of new measurements will be sent.
When the instrument loses its power, it will remain working on its internal battery until power is restored. When its battery runs empty, it will then shut off. If connected to the Multi Channel oscilloscope software, a notification of the power loss will be sent. When power is restored, the instrument will automatically switch on again and resume measuring as before the power loss. Connection to the Multi Channel oscilloscope software will be restored as well, which will send a notification to the user.
